Award Winner
New Moon is the second book in the Twilight saga by Stephenie Meyer. To celebrate Bella's 18th birthday, Edward Cullen--a vampire who refuses to feed on human blood--hosts a special party for her at his family home. When Bella accidentally cuts herself, the smell of her blood and the ravenous reaction of the Cullens force Edward to recognize Bella's dangerous position. He makes the tough decision to leave Forks, Washington--and Bella--behind. But soon Bella begins to hear his cautionary voice whenever she's in danger, which encourages her recklessness and depression. She perks up when she and her friend Jacob begin to see one another, but Bella is still preoccupied with thoughts of Edward. And soon Bella realizes she has not fully escaped danger: Jacob is a werewolf.
